Monaee Rucker’s Poem
He was always so far away
And my love was never enough,
I'd rather be alone
Than give him my trust.
She was always so far away
But my love wasn't enough, I wish I could hold on to your heart
So I can believe in trust.
She would always say go to church,
Pray to God,
You will gain his trust.
My love so faded
My tears are dry
I always feel cold
With nobody to hold, I wish I could fly And spread my wings
But I feel like a broken soul
With two broken wings
A face with makeup that ain't really mine
A fake smile with a frown that's hiding behind
A pretty girl with no heart
He was always so far away And my love wasn't enough
I'd rather be alone
Than give him my trust.
